One of the most effective approaches to limit the access to your Internet site is to block the IP addresses of the people that must not be able to open it. There are numerous reasons why you should do this. As an illustration, you may want a specific person not to be able to see your website, or you can limit the access for a whole country. You may also block IP addresses in case you discover that there are too many web browser requests from them, if a lot of spam comments are left on your websites or if a script login page has been loaded a large number of times. In any of these situations, the traffic is most probably fake and has been generated by an automatic bot, so you could safely block any questionable IP address, in order to be on the safe side. In this way, you will also prevent the prospect of your hosting server getting overloaded by a lot of fake requests.
IP Blocking in Shared Website Hosting
If you have a shared website hosting
account with us and you would like to block one or a number of IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, that is included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. By using a rather simple interface, you'll be able to stop any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it requires to do this is to log inside to your CP, to check out the IP Blocking section, to choose a particular domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to type in the IP address. You won't have to do anything complicated if you want to block a whole network - you'll just have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the entire range from 126.96.36.199 to 188.8.131.52. All blocked IPs will be listed in the same section, so you shall be able to remove any one of them from the blacklist with just a mouse click.
IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated server
accounts come with a very simple-to-use IP blocking tool, that'll allow you to prohibit individual IPs or even entire networks from accessing your sites with simplya few mouse clicks and you shall not have any troubles to achieve that even if that is your first web hosting account. Once you navigate to the IP Blocking section of the Hepsia CP, you'll simply have to choose the domain or subdomain in question from a drop-down list, then input the IP address within a box which you'll see there and you will be good to go. To prohibit the access for an entire network, you will need to leave one or more octets blank. For example, if you enter 123.123. and don't type anything in the third and fourth positions, our web server will deny requests from all IP addresses between 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11.
