SSD with Data Caching
What is a solid-state drive (SSD)? What is SSD caching and how does it work? Check out the advantages of hosting your sites on an SSD-powered server.
A solid-state drive is noticeably quicker than any regular hard disk. This is because an HDD uses rotating disks, that can rotate only so fast and the more data is read and written, the sluggish and hotter they become, at the same time an SDD works with modules of flash memory, so there aren't any actually moving parts. The access speeds for an SSD are a lot higher, which makes these drives a recommended solution if speed is needed. That's why SSDs are in many cases employed for the Operating System on a laptop or computer and for keeping data that's accessed often on web servers. A large number of providers also use a combination of the two drives, so they keep the data on hard disk drives, but they use several SSDs in order to cache the more frequently used data and consequently, the data loads quicker while the load on the HDDs is decreased as their disks have to spin less often in order to read and write.

SSD with Data Caching in Shared Website Hosting
The cloud platform where we create
shared website hosting accounts uses solely SSD drives, so your web applications and static websites will load very quickly. The SSDs are used for files, emails and databases, so regardless of whether you open a page or check for new e-mail messages using webmail, the content will load quickly. So as to offer even better speeds, we also use a group of dedicated SSDs that function only as cache. All of the content which generates a lot of traffic is copied on them automatically and is afterwards read from them and not from the primary storage drives. Needless to say, that content is replaced dynamically for much better performance. What we achieve by doing this apart from the better speed is reduced overall load, thus reduced potential for hardware failures, and longer lifespan of the primary drives, which is one more level of protection for any info that you upload to your account.

SSD with Data Caching in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you buy one of our
semi-dedicated hosting packages, your Internet sites will be stored on a cloud platform that employs only SSD drives for the storage of files, databases and e-mails. Along with the cutting-edge ZFS file system that we use, this configuration provides extremely fast loading speed for any web app hosted on our end. To ensure that the sites of one user do not affect the ones of another one, we also use a number of SSDs as cache - our system discovers files that are accessed more frequently and duplicates them, so that they start loading from the caching drives. The content on the latter is refreshed dynamically and consequently we can balance the load on all of the drives, ensure their extended life-span, reduce the risk of disk failures and, of course, provide you with a fast and reliable web hosting service.
